I am trying to decide whether or not to add a FNP-9 to my collection. However, I do not know very much about this pistol.

Two questions are delaying my decision:

1 -Does this gun have any problems associated with it?

2 - what is the warranty, and are replacement parts available?

FN Herstal is the company also known as Browning (OK, they own Browning). While others should be able to tell you more about the gun, the company itself is PRETTY big. I would have to assume they stand behind their products.

i own one . and couldn't be happier. feels better in my hand than glock or XD. i think its a safer pistol than those also: exposed hammer and hammer drop decocker make for a safer pistol IMO. the blued slide is actually stainless steel blued (blackened). comes with 2 backstraps and 3 sixteen round mags.

feeds absolutely everything i can stuff in it. very easy to take down and clean.

FN is one of the most respected arms makers in the world....they make the famous FAL battle rifle as well as light and heavy machine guns for military.

BTW, at $420 out the door, this is an unbelivable bargain. But even if it were the same price as a glock, i would still pick it. MADE IN THE USA!!!

I have confidence in FN and their products. I don't know the details of their warranty program, but they are a solid, reputable company. I'd buy the gun, if you already know you like it.

Since they're located in the same town I am, I'm going to send them a nice note in the hopes of getting a tour of their facility. We'll see, I guess.

They sent me one for review. It didn't work.
Sent it back.
They fixed it.
I thought I was going to hate the gun... I really did. But after objectively reviewing the gun - it comes out a strong and solid 8 out of 10. I like it.
FN was slow to fix it, but fix it they did.

Great price; exposed hammer makes it safer; and cocked and locked capability on some models gives it a better trigger than the competition.

I wonder if there will be a FNP-45
There is one :D . Pic in this month's (Jan) Guns & Ammo, and probably more on the web too. A little less than a year ago FN let it be known that they would be offering the FNP in 45 ACP. It looks like they should be shipping soon. Send a PM to Correia: He's an FN dealer and can probably tell you when they expect them in.

I picked an FNP-9 up a few weeks ago. It took about 100 rounds to break it in, after that, it ran flawlessly. It prints a little high with the loads I've tried (Magtech 115gr FMJ, Speer GoldDot 115gr GDHP, Remington/UMC 115gr FMJ), but tends to shoot most accurately with the Remington/UMC stuff. I got it on sale at Bass Pro for the same price Bill_G paid. Worth every cent.

Oh, and unlike many other hi-cap mags I've run across, putting a full 16 rounds into each magazine is a relative breeze (I'm used to single stack .45's so anything that saves my poor little thumbs is appreciated!)
