Alright Tuner, I said I post a pic so here ya go. Norinco 1911A1 morphed into a MEU(SOC) design. The only thing left from the original gun is the barrel, sear spring and frame and slide of course.

King's Hardball front and rear sight
King's Commander hammer
S&A mainspring housing w/ loop
Sear and disconnector from a Kimber
Brown slide stop
Brown ambi safety
Brown extractor
Ejection port lowered and flared
Mag well flared slightly
Other stuff I am surely forgetting
Total cost=$300 for the gun and about another $300 for parts and a LOT of my time.

Just curious. do you use Base Pads on your magazine to avoid getting creamed when you slap a magazine in that baby? I love the look of those lanyard loops but never felt a need for them. Very nice work on that gun! I like your choice of sights, too!

Until I saw this i was not aware that anyone made a flat serrated or checkered mainspring housing with a lanyard loop. I have been looking for some for quite a while.

I had been thinking of drilling my Wilson 30LPI for a loop but at the moment I don't have the proper tools to do the job.

I just checked Brownell's and found the SMith & Alexander models.
While I prefer 30LPI checkering, I guess I could live with 20LPI.

Once I get my life back I will try one of them.

I like the Hardball sights. They are tall and wide. Easy to see.

As for the loop on the MSH getting in the way--so far no problem. But, I don't shoot it for competition or anything. It would probably be a nuisance in IDPA.

BB, yes, it is the S&A MSH and I think I got it from Brownell's.
