A lie can be halfway 'round the world before the truth has its boots on.

In spite of the lies, and they were lies, about Kerry's service record by the Highly Paid Republican Consultants for Truthiness it turned out that they really were making it up, distorting and otherwise doing RNC politics as usual the same way that the Arkansas Project lied and lied and lied about President Clinton. The lies were on page 1. The corrections got buried on page 12. That didn't matter as long as the poison got hissed into enough ears.

Sorry, he served, served with distinction, was legitimately decorated and honorably served out his hitch. Compare this to Chimpy McLackwit who is still technically AWOL from his cushy, safe sinecure in the Air Guard.

"Her mother, Alesher Zeigler, says, "She was trying to fit in... and this new boyfriend she was with he just totally changed her, totally changed her."

"A lesson to young people - about being careful of the company you keep. Your "friend" can leave you dead."

There's a scripture in 1'st Corinthians that says "Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits". I think it applies here.

"I noticed that The mom doesn't take any responsobility for raising her daughter. Also puts the blame on anyone other than her daughter. (other people are to blame, they changed her) not she changed. Why cant she just say her daughter was a thug piece of trash who deserved what she got as a direct result of her own actions."

You don't have kids do you:rolleyes: ? Parents don't want to see bad things in their kids. That's why you see so many parents on the news right after their child just shot up a building saying, "He was a good boy". There's a saying I believe in that applies here. "None are so blind as those who will not see".

:barf:
Murtha, Kerry and Carter all served with distinction and honor.

Republican Lie Machine
:scrutiny: You have to stop smoking those weird substances passed out by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid friend!

What Kerry did in the Nam is very debatable. It very much looks like he fragged himself for that first purple heart...a splinter for another...sigh. It is clear what ever Carter and Murtha did while in uniform that was honorable, they have stained it with cowardice, appeasment and treason since. They give aid and comfort to the enemies of The United States of America and should be called out for it!

Benedict Arnold's leg, lost in battle prior to his treason is still honored with a marker......but the rest of his carcass is rubbish to be spat on.

10/7/1777

The second Battle of Saratoga began during the American Revolution. During the battle General Benedict Arnold was shot in the leg. Another bullet killed his horse, which fell on Arnold, crushing his leg. The "Boot Monument" sits close to the spot where Arnold was wounded, and is a tribute to the general’s heroic deeds during that battle. Although Arnold’s accomplishments are described on the monument, it pointedly avoids naming the man best known for betraying his country. The British forces, under Gen. John Burgoyne, surrendered 10 days later. .

This thread is not supposed to be about the Kerry or Murtha. It's about a guy with a pocket knife who fought off several attacker who had guns & brass nuckles.

The exMarine now says he was only defending himself and is sorry the girl died. Well you shouldn't appologize for defending yourself , it's you right and duty !!!

Yes but....

It is about how a Marine used his training and wits to defeat adversaries who had firearms when he only had a pocket knife...We all cheer that. However I think it was Tellner started this into the political territory with a ridiculous defense of John Kerry, that does not stand up to scrutiny on any level. I hardly think the swift boat vets who served with Kerry in Nam and have told the truth about him are
Highly Paid Republican Consultants
. Kerry keeps saying he will answer them.....it has been almost two years since the election. So put up your facts or just shut up john. When I see lies I will call you on it, whatever the thread is about. Especially where it comes to speaking well of our anti gun foes.

I have little patience with folks supposedly on our side who become the defenders of the enemies of our Second Amendment freedoms. If anti gun politicians like Murtha, Jimmy Carter and John Kerry got trampled in the process I am so sorry.:neener:

Can we just keep this about the marine? I'm tired of hearing about how liberals are treasonous just like I'm sure many of you are tired of my liberal viewpoint on politics.
thanks,
David

Cookekdjr, With all due respect, when liberals cease to be treasonous, yes ,we can stop talking about it. However they can't seem to help themselves... I view violations of our Constitutionally protected freedoms as treason. Like say.....gun ownership. Especially when the folks doing it have taken an oath to uphold and defend that Constitution. Hence I am not only talking about the war in specific in this regard. In the midst of talking about this brave Marine and his actions in Atlanta, the subject drifted to Carter, Murtha and Kerry. They were brought up in this thread, but not by me. So I am answering it with what I think and know. Just because someone on the political left makes a statement does not mean it can not be challenged, or commented on. I hope you agree with that. ;)

Calling the President
Chimpy McLackwit who is still technically AWOL from his cushy, safe sinecure in the Air Guard.
Truly deserves comment too.....however if folks still wish to embrace the discredited and ousted Dan Rather..Ousted for this lie I might add...well,that is their business. It does however say a lot about their credibility in commenting on anything political....

It might interest you to know I view the actions of my two RINO Senators, Voinovich and DeWine as seditious and treasonous when they do the wrong thing and vote for gun control legislation. They both have and you can believe I have called and written their offices giving them great grief for it. I do not well tolerate the enemies of our freedom.

Now back to our original subject. As Teddy Roosevelt would say, " Bully for this Marine!"! :D

gopguy,
I don't begrudge you talking politics. I just thought we were supposed to steer clear of political discussions on THR unless they were gun-related. At least, that's how the moderators explained it when they shut down a thread I was participating in.
Anyhoooooooooow. Back to the jarhead. Good job.

True, this in not in the legal and political section. But the thugs did have guns.....I do wonder what kind of .380 auto they had that "misfired"....I suspect the thug pulled the trigger on an empty chamber. One thing is for sure, none of the bad guys or gal, spent any time at Gunsite. lol:D

I've seen badly maintained pistols fail to fire. It doesn't happen that often, but with enough idiots who abuse their guns it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Even when armed with only a knife, and out-numberd 4 or 5 to 1, a U.S. Marine is STILL a formidable fighting machine.

Apparently yesterday the initial article read "Ex-Marine kills pregnant robber." Enough folks called and complained that they changed the title.

Oh, and um... what's the proper way to refer to a Marine who is no longer in active service? I've heard several things and want to know the right way to refer to you wonderful folk.

We normally say "former Marine" but that's only to provide a phrase to describe the status of those who are not "active" but not "retired" either. Once a Marine, and all that. :)

Good article on the attempted robbery, and assult. I think the victims should have remained "pictureless" in the news story. We need to celebrate that the intended victim defended himself and was successful. He seemed to apply force only as was necessary to protect his life. The gang members should be scorned by all.

Wonder who owns the 2007 Cadillac these 16 & 17 year olds were riding around in looking for victims?

"Wonder who owns the 2007 Cadillac these 16 & 17 year olds were riding around in looking for victims?"

likely an earlier victim.

I had heard about this happening but did not see the news link until viewing the posted one's here. Thanks for sharing. It is refreshing to see someone so outnumbered and minding his own business taking care of business. People need to be held accountable for their actions and these thugs definitely were. I can only hope those that survived learned their lesson. Doubtfully so I presume.
