Mine was the IX-A in the .45...My date was more in the 1970's. It had the ventilated rib, enlarged ejection port, already throated barrel, and was extremely reliable...The slide stop plunger was the screw-in type, IIRC....
I sold it only because at the time, needed the $$$$...
Hope you enjoy yours....:)

Im sure I will, ive found out why it was not feeding well when I hand cycled some ammo. I was pulling the slide rearward and pushing forward. When I pulled the slide rearward and let go it fed perfect every time.

Thanks Constantine!! Because of you I bought a Llama 1911 on Gunbroker last week.

:neener:

Some lady was selling it to pay for her husbands funeral costs. Sad story, but neat looking gun. He apparently swapped out some parts(barrel lug, thumb safety, trigger, etc.)with polished nickel pieces. Also mother of pearl grips. Bought it for a song, so regardless if is a tack-driver or a car gun, I helped her out.

I'll post pics when I get her.

Cool:cool: Ill EVENTUALLY get a camera and post pics(less money on ammo). What are the grips made for the Llama or another 1911? i have been wondering if some regular 1911 grips would fit my Llama, did you buy the same model I have, what model did you buy?

Mine is a later model. The grips I use are like these:

Yours are more of the 1911 style, but they will NOT work with regular 1911 grips. You'll have to get grips made for Llama. If I remember correctly, Llama grips have screw holes a little farther apart than regular 1911 grips.

They should still fit, but I'm not certain. I can't believe Llama would make 3 versions of grips for the same 1911 style pistol. But then again they could. So, I'm no help. I'm still trying to get more info on them.
