Fred's columns are (sometimes) entertaining, but his fantasies of how a battle would transpire show a lack of understanding of modern military technology.
A couple of months ago, he wrote a piece that had the good guys hiding in the field taking long range shots at a UN convoy. His guys would've stood out in a FLIR image like a bonfire at midnight, but that never occured to him. I doubt he knows what modern imaging equipment can do, whether airborne or satellite.
The thing he keeps forgetting is that if UN troops ever do march across the US, they won't be Abu and Mohammed; they'll be Billy Bob and Johnny and Joe. You'd have to figure on UN tactics and technology being the same as US tactics and technology, and if you want to see how well that can perform, take a look at what happened in Afghanistan.
