Rodentman, Congrats. Isn't it amazing how tight all the gaps are? I always marvel at how well the FAs are put together.

Parasite, I trust we'll be seeing some pics when yours arrives? You don't see all that may 10 inchers.

Good grief, the guy who I just got the 10" 44 Mag off of says he has a pristine model 83 Premier grade 357 he says he will sell me and I can pay for it anyway I want to over several months. I love my Smiths, but I may be selling more of them.:(

Great revolvers; a bad idea for a cartridge that mandates responsibility. A single stray round loaded to 60 kpsi that somehow winds up in a S&W M60 or even an M27 could cost someone their life.
I'd definitely keep the revolver but have it rechambered to .356 GNR so this kind of accident can't happen.

My Big 10 Inch

Here's my first Freedom Arms I bought used online this past month. A 44 Magnum. Me and my reloads have given it quite a workout since. I'm more than pleased with it. An utter joy to shoot and own. Now I need to find some nice, reasonably priced grips............and maybe a conceal/carry holster.:)

Forgive my ignorance. As l read this,a 353 is nothing more than a hot loaded 357. lt would be easy to get the 2 mixed. Sounds like an accident looking for a HOME

They used to call them a 353 before the model 83 was designated. The 83 refers to it being a full sized framed gun. They are now called a model 83, 357 caliber.
