purchased my son a rem express 20 ga and he is having a hard time picking up the front sight, would like to change to a tru glow any suggestions on how to take off stock sight thanks.:

If it is a standard beed sight you can get a magnetic "strip" that the fiber optic is atached to to fit on the rib.

If it's iron sights you need a brass drift and hammer, or a sight pusher tool.

The Express bead is pressed in.
The small ramp is brazed on the barrel.

Usually, the bead snaps off when you try to remove it, so the best thing is to drill out the stub then thread the hole to whatever front sight you want to use.

Leave the bead on it, it will help keep the fiber optic sight on. Pick up a Tru-Glo made specifically for that rib, peel and stick after cleaning with alcohol. Works great, lasts a long time.

The only concern with fiber is you should take extra care not to get solvents on them, it can break down the reflective sheath and dim it badly.

I put an XS Sight Systems 24/7 Big Dot sight on my Rem 870.

It just epoxies over the existing bead sight.

XS also sells a Standard-size dot sight.

The application for this is more of a defensive nature (it glows in the dark), but check out the website and take a look at it.
The one I have installed on my shotgun would be very easy to acquire in the daylight.
