So I just had a most unhappy experience at the range.

Ive put 375 rounds through the new Ruger, all kinds of ammo, 3 different mags, no problems.

Today, I think, hey works been stressful, I'll go to the range to relax. All is good until - I get a FTF. Well, I figure, it does happen. But, over the next 7 mags I get 3 more FTF and 3 FTE. I changed ammo (UMC 230gr, PMC 230gr, Winchester White Box), I changed mags, nothing seemed to help.
Finally I made double sure I was not limp wristing. This seems to stop the trouble over the last 35 rounds (I coulda bought more and kept checking, but I really didn't have the time to).

So I kind of feel like I was somehow limp wristing, and I think my apprehension at the continuing problems was hurting my concentration, i.e. waiting for the next mishap.

Sigh. If the Ruger passed today with no problems I was gonna make it my "house" gun, but no way now until I get another 500 rounds through it with no malfunctions. So its still the .38 S&W 64 with +P Glasers for the "house" gun.

Definately not relaxing.:uhoh:

Anyone else want to share some malfunction stories?

FTF -- failure to feed or failure to fire?

I had intermittant (about once/box) failures to feed in my P90 (Ruger's other .45 autoloader). What eventually cured it was a bit of polishing and a stronger recoil spring from Wolff. ~700 rounds and 4 months later, no problems.

Otherwise, call Ruger cust service (928) 778-6555. They make a point of not having a warranty, but the definatly do support their guns.
