it sounds like a post sample MP5-K and a muzzle can (suppressor). the MP5-K's are going for about $2000 brand new on the post-86 market. i dont know which suppressor it is, they range in price from a few hundred to a thousand if it is a Knight's Armament silencer or something exotic.

full retail on fifteen German 30 round curved date-coded mags @ $50 each is = $750.

that ought to give you an idea of where you are at. and i assume your friend realizes it is a post-86 DS so he needs an FFL/SOT and a valid PD demo letter.

OK...that pretty much answers the question. $3,500 would drop in the right price range if it had 2 barrels and all the extra stuff

That is definately a sample. To give you real world numbers I picked up 3
MP5's in various configurations over the past 2 months and they were as follows:

MP5SD with a S&H sear $16,250
MP5A3 with a Qualified sear $16,500
MP5K with a Flemming sear $16,750
