Winning Entry

Well folks, it doesn't get any more fun than this for less than $1000. My Mech Tech Carbine Conversion Unit:

Three separate sighting systems :D How could that NOT be fun? Pictured with a 10 round magazine, STILL not legal in California. Once I get my act together I'll put a Para frame on it with 20 rnd magazines.

One of the best guns I've bought. Helped me become a better shooter, and blasting away at cans and clays with my girlfriend and her .22 on lazy summer days just cannot be beat.

Preacherman gets the nod for "best gun picture ever"...

But I'll enter anyway :

Still chambered in 7.65 by 25mm, with a 3-power Hensoldt scope :D

MikeB ... how did I just KNOW your pic would be the Carbon!!! The gun Eric Rohrbaugh liked so much!!

My contribution would have to be twofold .. in rifle the FAL is a joy and handgun? Well tops for grins is the BFR ! :)

What can I say; there's nothing like good taste in guns.

I thought about the .445 Supemag, but your BFR is a bit more impressive than that. The .500 S&W; well doesn't everyone own one now? The Coonan - nice but not quite as fun. The Beowulf - it's just an AR that fires a .50 caliber round. But the .223 handgun - hmmm that's fun! And considering I don't own a Full Auto yet? The Carbon 15 is fun and a bit unique.

Anyways here is a couple other Fun Guns.

Not really, my club is used to me :)

Once I figure out how to build a semi-auto closed-bolt Sterling so I can get the Stormtrooper blaster set up to shoot next to the Solo blaster, though...

In the meantime, here is one I just finished building last week. My goal was a 5-pound 20" AR. I ended up a third of a pound over...sigh... Cav plastic lower, Vulcan plastic upper, carbon fiber forend, vintage Colt "standard" contour barrel cut back to 17.5 and threaded for the comp.

Oleg, I am confused. I can imagine that the picture involves something fun, but those aren't your fingernails and that gun (although it is fine) doesn't qualify as really 'fun'.

So, tell us, which part of the picture is the fun part?

It would get more fun with one of these 1911 drum mags.

No kidding! I've heard about those drums, but I've never seen one before. How much does one of those set you back? Drool ....

I don't remember exactly. I had never seen one before and it was labeled as holding 50rds. I paid about $250 at that point, but then I found out it was only 25rds, so I took it back and renegotiated the price and also bought something esle. If I recall correctly it ended up being about $125 or so in the end.

To be honest I have no idea what the real value is, and have never seen another for sale. I couldn't even guess at what the "normal" price would be.

It says Taylor MK.I.45 and Bingham LTD., Atlanta on it. I would guess that was the manufacturer and model or whatnot.

Here are a couple better pics.

That was LESS than $1000, remember :D That magazine would definitely push my CCU into four-digit territory. But I'm still very jealous.
