Bullet: MBC 115gr RN (9mm)
Powder: 231
Primer: Winchester (if it even matters to ya)
15yds from vise...I'm weak I know.

4.3gr: will not cycle
4.4gr: will cycle ; need to shoot more to determine grouping accuracy
4.5gr: will cycle ; acceptable accuracy for me
4.6gr: will cycle ; best accuracy
4.7gr: will cycle ; acceptable accuracy...but no need in going above 4.5gr (for me)

I'll put my Lee auto on 4.5gr and I'll be set....

Hmm....good report!

Funny how the other day i was betting on 4.6g to be the best load....i wonder if it will be the same in my g19. Although the only reason i picked 4.6 was because it was "safely" in the middle...

The 4.3 wouldn't cycle at all or just sometimes?
The 4.4 cycled EVERY time?

4.3 not at all....
4.4 EVERY time.

I hand measured each round... I won't have to hand measure now that I know 4.5gr +- thrown by a lever will work.

I would rather have 4.4gr than a 4.7gr.... 4.4gr was more accurate 4.7.... may be my shooting so don't take it as a science...LOL. but if it was my shooting then 4.7 would be my most accurate since i was warmed up and adjusted to my vise grip.

Just make sure you look into every case before seating the bullet....it doesn't happen often but my measure will throw a 2gr charge from time to time...maybe it's me...regardless it happens and my process --that i strictly adhere to-- catches it if/when it happens.

What measure/press are you loading on?

I have the Lee turret press, i always look into the case for powder before i set the bullet, but i dont really pay attention to the amount of powder all that much. I just make sure its not a double charge or anything. I'm not sure how you would get a double charge with a turret press but i bet someone somewhere has done it before...

when a case fails to eject I drop the magazine, extend/lock the slide, extract the case, look down the barrel. I would think it's safe to say that if a case ejects then it had enough powder to push the bullet out of the barrel.

My 4.3 never ejected...

I've had similar results with my G19 and stock spring, but I can go lower and still have it cycle. Same with my M&P 9c. This is all with a Berry's 124gr RN plated bullet, however, not a 115gr.

I really like the mid-range load as well, between 4.2 and 4.6gr of Win231.

Are you using stock springs in your G22?

It's not you, it's the adjustable charge bar. For lighter pistol charges, I too have hard time getting consistent drops and occasionally experienced really light charges. :fire:

Some do well with larger charges.

There was a thread that addressed the adjustable charge bar issue and low pistol charges by reshaping the charge bar. I'll look for the thread unless someone could post the info.

yea...stock. The important detail is the Generation 4.... they have their revamped springs "made for a .40sw" -- outside of THR I have not read that....

I was curious how this heavier recoil reducing spring was going to react with a 9mm load. I'm pleased that 4.4 will cycle...I'd like 4.1-4.3 but 4.4 is better than 4.6!

I'm a load weenie! I don't know if that's what they call us...but i'm in that group! The lighter the better...my ideal recoil is that of a daisy BB gun after 1 pump.

Oh....must be different than mine then, mine uses the Lee disks...they seem pretty consistant. They all seem to run .1g light with 231 but they are consistant.

bds taught me a trick that invovles slightly drilling the disks until you get the exact drop. just an FYI -- fine tuning your drop can be done.

we prob have the same measure drop...charge bar is just an aftermarket accessory. I have the disks as well. just faster for me to load multiple calibers with the charge bar....

Looks like you found a load that will for you.

I got the info on the springs from my g/f as I have not been completely educated in "the way of the Glock." I believe that a couple of the glock forums that an in depth explanation of the springs and which came with what gun. If you can identify the spring that you have, I believe that you might be able to go one lower if you want to shoot a lighter load. I think that Glock puts a spring out as a replacement.
