OK, so I have decided to scrap the cheap plastic hand guards
and move up to a 1 piece rifle length free float quad rail for my
AR-15 carbine.
I have decided to go with the Yankee Hill Diamond Forearm (YHM-9635-DX).
For those of you who have done this yourselves, you know that the stock front sight base/gas block needs to be replaced with one that is low profile in
order to run rifle length hand guards.
My question is this - If I go with a low profile model like this:
Am I going to wind up seeing unparkerized parts of my barrel that
used to be under the old front sight post/gas block?
Perhaps I should go with one of these?
I appreciate your help and if anyone can forsee any other problems
I could run into please let me know now.
Thanks,
