I found out the other day that my biggest problem with low left and bad follow up shots lays a lot on my gun. I have a Gen3 G17 RTF2. I have learned my hands are to small to get the proper grip on the gun and keep that grip. I was talking to a guy and he suggested a new Gen4 without a back strap on it. He is right 100%. Long story short we made a deal and my Gen3 is getting traded for a Gen4.
Here is my question, I spent a lot of time working up a few good loads for my Gen3. For instance 4.7g Power Pistol, pushing a 147g Montana Gold, set at 1.150”. Should I pull all the rounds I have loaded and work up new loads or am I good to go? I want to try and shoot this new gun before the next steel shoot and I think I will get one time to do it. Should it be getting use to the gun or load development?

TH,

If 4.7 grains is near max, you might back off a bit and work back up. But I generally don't re-work up mid range loads when changing pistols.

Your future improvement probably depends very little on pistol or ammo selection, and more on your skill level, trigger control, weapon familiarity, etc.

4.7g is right in the middle. Everything I have seen says 4.5-5.0g of PP for 147 bullets.
