get silver scratches out of bluing?

    I have a Rock Island Armory 1911 that I flat-out love...

It'a the standard GI model, believe the finish is bluing.

In the process of manipulating it for takedown and racking the slide, I have put a few small scratches on the finish from my silver rings.

Maybe a better way to say it would be that I have scratched the rings and left some silver on the gun. You know how you can take a silver ring and write on a wall with it? Same thing. Didn't scratch the gun, but it's got little streaks of silver on the finish now.

I'm not terribly bothered by it, but would like to know how to remove it. I've tried Hopps, Break Free, scrubbing, and have had no luck.

Not bluing, it's Parkerized. This one is blued. Keep messing with the scratches, they'll come out eventually, I've had copper streaks on mine from Levi's rivets.

    Try oil and bronze wool.
