Glock 17 Problem, need assistance

Help, please. Apparently I have goofed. I purchased a 3.5# trigger connector for my Glock 17. I "thought" I had disassembled, replaced the connector, and reassembled correctly. However, when I rack the slide, the sidearm will not dry fire. No "click," no striker drop. Now I am sure I assembled something incorrectly, but now, without having the ability to dry-fire/drop the striker, I cannot remove the slide. This makes it a little difficult to strip for problem diagnoses. Thanks in advance for the help.

Lock the slide to the rear.
Remove the cover plate from the rear of the slide.
Remove the striker.
You should now be able to remove the slide from the frame.

RobMoore.....Thanks for the assistance. I got all excited about taking it apart, but I am at my office without the correct wrench to remove the plate. I am going to go nuts today waiting to go home so I can fix it. Thanks for your help!

Don't you have a letter opener or some other utensil that could be used?

Make sure you reattached the return spring S pattern. I hope you didn't bend the connector to straighten it out. The connector needs to be removed carefully with a punch on the opposite side.

Thanks for all the input. Being neurotic, I made a quick trip to the hardware store and purchased another set of hex head wrenches to get the plate off (screws due to a carry clip that I no longer use). After disassembling/reassembling and locking up 3-4 times, I figured out the problem. I did not straighten out the new connector, but apparently someone else felt the need to do so. Upon further inspection, a comparison of the old and new showed the new to to have the incorrect angle. I gently bent the new connector to match the old. I reassembled and "presto, chango" it works like it is supposed to work and I love the feel of the new trigger. Light enough to be better but heavy enough to be comfortable with. I was very careful putting the correct angle on the new connector, so I am fairly confident that I didn't compromise its strenth.
