glock 23 issue

i bought my first glock today and am having an issue with it. the slide is locking back after every shot. i am using glock 13 round mags

Sounds like a magazine issue if you are using the same magazine but I can't help outside that.

My friend's G23 has the opposite problem, sometimes it doesn't lock back after the last shot.

Bet it is your grip, thumb pushing the slide stop up on recoil--if so try putting your left thumb over your right.

Replace the slide lock lever and spring. Very cheap.

I've seen this happen to too many people when they first get a .40 to think its the GLOCK hardware first. The .40 has some recoil to it, and shooters will grip tighter than they may have been use to with the 9mm models, and either push up on the slide release lever (causing exactly your problem) or ride it with their thumb (causing the slide to NOT lock back after the last round). Try using a thumbs-locked-down grip to see if it cures your problem temporarily. Then experiment till you find a grip that works.

thanks for the replies. the gun is used and the problem happens with both magazines i have. i will check my grip to make sure im not hitting that lever
