I bought a Glock 27 back in Feb and now I am ready to talk about it. I have 3 guns that I carry depending on the situation. They are the Ruger LCP, Kimber 3" 1911, and the Glock 27. All three are dead reliable. I shoot the Kimber and Glock just about equally after putting a 3# connector in the Glock. I added the peirce ext to the 27 for my pinky and it also gave me 10 rounds.

I find myself reaching for the Glock the most when carrying. Do not get me wrong I love the 45 and my Kimber, but the Glock fits me best. It weighs slightly less than the Kimber and the grip is a little shorter. I am also less worried about something happen to the Glock it fits the tool aspect better in my opinion.

I have owned and carried several handguns over the years and could have saved myself a lot of time and money if I would have tried the G27 sooner. I hope this rambling helps someone.

It doesn't help me as I already have just about the same rotation by swapping in a Colt Defender for the Kimber. In the summer, its LCP most of the time as its so easy to slip unnoticed in a pocket holster in shorts. With bigger cover garments on it depends what I'm doing. If I'm out working, sweating, etc. its the g27; otherwise the Colt.

I used to have a g27 and think that a Pierce extended floorplate or a +1 mag extension is necessary, it makes the gun so much more controllable. I had a pierce finger extension on all my mags for the G27, or used g23 mags as I couldn't shoot that gun worth anything without the extra length. I honestly prefer the G23 and find I can carry one just the same as a G27.

The G27 is a good shooter though and you can feel well protected carrying one.

I tend to carry either an SP101 in .327 federal, G23 or a sig P232 and prefer the SP101. I would like to try a G19 again, I had one previously but it was a lemon. It would be a good sized gun for the 9mm

Has anyone heard of the Kaboom factor with the 27 ? I know the talk is
more about the 22 but I didn't know with both of them being 40 cal .

ccwoo7 agree on the glock 27 i purchased the Glock 29SF with lone wolf conversion barrel in 40 s&W and a lw 10 mm . . like you i could have saved my nuch money, spent on 357 ,45 acp and a few 38 specials.

I picked up a kel tec P3AT with a red dot . Was not reliable at all untill I added a spoon full of Lapping compound and added a stronger firing pin. Fired 200 rounds of handloads. \--= my version of fluff an buff . Now one of the two always with me. Still like my Ruger Sp101,
my choice over the J frame. . Granted 38 special more knock down than the 380 autol .

I love my G27. I carry is almost everyday in a UBG Canute IWB. I've also added the pinky extensions which are a mandate. I do like hearing about how dangerous the Glock .40's are. They seem to just explode out of the blue. I currently own 2 Glock 22's and a Glock 27. The combined round count is well over 10k. I've also owned a Glock 23 and a Glock 19 both of which I've rode hard. No explosions to date.

Nope, I have not heard of G27 KBs. I have observed several Glock KBs in the past years and they have been 40S&W/45ACP mostly caused by double/over charged reloads.

I have a Gen3 G27 and case base support is almost as good as my Lone Wolf barrels. It is my go-to pistol I carry/reach for the most when I am awake (I have the +1 Pearce mag base) and G22 is next to me when I sleep.

Recently bought a 27 and was amazed at how accurately and "easily" it shot.

Great trigger, manageable recoil, and felt natural in my hands.

Sold it last week for a Kahr PM40 which isn't as comfortable to shoot, but is more concealable, my purpose for owning a compact.

I highly recommend the G27 to anyone wanting a pistol of that size and caliber.

Remember also that you can swap the .40 barrel to 9 mm using a Lone Wolf conversion barrel, essentially making it a Glock 26. Then you can either use G26 mags or G19 magazines, increasing your capacity. There is a mag extension thingy to bridge the gap if you use the longer G19 mags.

I absolutely love my G26, I can't say enough good things about Glock, I have 4 at the moment. They are truly one of the best guns you can buy, that's for sure. To tell you the truth one of my top 5 dream guns would be dual Glock 18's.

You made the right choice. After decades of going back and forth with metal plastic, safetys, no safetys, I have setteled on a 26 and a 30. They fill 90% of my needs. The keltek and seacamp, fill the other 10%. I don't hunt or shoot long distance anymore, so it's just for self defense for me.Make the personell additions, "or not" like I put on some grip tape, and a front night site. Get the right holsters, I got a fobus and a cheap IWB, from "the holster store", after finding the Comp-tac, just didn't work for me. And you are set, You may want to pick up 1or 2 extended magazines with 13 rounds for your 27. It doesn't weigh much more and you have some extra rounds. And you are ready for just about anything with a reliable lightweight weapon. By the way, "Talon" makes some super grip tape pre cut for the Glock series of pistols, ust peel and stick. It comes off easy if you don't like it, but molds on with a hairdryer. I also got the plug for the bottom, and the trigger plug for my IWB holster, it pops out easy and just gives me a little more peace of mind when out on the town and reholstering after a long night.

Go with what works for you. Personally, in a gun that size I would prefer the lighter recoiling 9mm Luger (G26). But, the G27s smaller size and especially lighter weight means you will carry it more often, or put another way, it is something you will always have with you. Having a gun is, after all, the first rule of gunfighting.

Great choice. It's probably the best mix of size, caliber, firepower, and reliability.

My Favorite

I own a lot of guns, most of which are more expensive than the G27. Hands down, the G27 is my favorite. (Obviously, money doesn't always buy happiness :D) I always take it to the range, its my personal carry gun, my truck gun and my home defense gun. It has NEVER failed me in thousands of rounds. Shoots where I aim it, recoil not worse than a 9 in my opinion. Arguably, its one of the best pistols out there. I used to think that Glocks were for beginners, for those who shopped by brand and didn't know anything about guns. Boy, was I wrong.

BTW, no, I didn't drink the Glock Kool Aid.
