Hi,

I'm a 1911 fan and have owned and shot them for years. I love them. Was always a bit curious about Glocks but did not like the feel. Two nights ago at the range I rented one (G30) just out of curiousity. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it shot. I wanted to shoot the G36, but they did not have one for rental. I am thinking of picking one up. My question is:

When carying a concealed Glock, how do most carry, round chambered?

Thanks.

Absolutely. With the trigger covered by a holster they are completely safe, and when handling mine I am always extra careful to keep my finger away from the trigger. Just like any other gun.

There was another thread about this just the other day I believe it was here. You might look for it.I've been carrying a Glock M-27 for about 12 years and have always carried it one in the chamber. As long as you have a decent holster that covers the trigger you shouldn't have a problem.I liked your comment about the Glock M-30. I bought one recently and haven't had a chance to try it out.

This is becoming the question of the week.

The proper way to carry a Glock (IMHO) is chambered and holstered. An unloaded handgun is about useless in a gunfight.

Sorry about the redundant question. I ran a search on the G36 only. Yes I am used to carrying the 1911 locked and cocked, but with a safety it just feels, well, safe. I'm not worried about putting my finger on the trigger. I'm good about not doing that, it's reholstering and having something get in the way...proably a long shot but I have heard of someone reholstering a Glock and getting a coat toggle stuck in the trigger guard when holstering. Could be an urban legend. Still it gives me pause to think.

One in the pipe! Might not have both hands free or the extra fraction of a second/body position to rack it.
I heard about that coat string story too, sounds very unlikely but possible.
I've had a coat or shirt tail try to go in a kydex holster with the gun but you feel it instantly. Just take a look or quick feel when reholstering, they don't time your reholstering speed :)

Just like you'd carry your 1911, one in the tube. I too am a 1911 guy who has discovered Glocks and started to like them.:what:

most definetly there is a round in the chamber, glock, xd, ruger, 1911 any and every handgun i carry with a round in the chamber

I like mine condition 1 in a Galco COP, kinda like a bikini holster only made out of rubber/ polymer. I prefer the G32 for power, but alot of guys like the 19 for better ammo prices.

i always carry my glock 23 "HOT" . it won't go off unless you pull the trigger.

saying i would be able to properly draw under pressure is one thing, and doing so is another. i can afford to rack it if i draw from my pants, im fine with one butt-hole, i dont need another. however, when i travel through detroit anywhere off of I-75, she sits on my lap and is chambered
