I contacted Glock today to find out if my Model 19 were ever part of the Great Recall of 1992 yet everyone I spoke to denied that such a recall had ever taken place and acted as if I had a hole in my head. I went through three departments, from Customer Service to Technical Services - same story.
According to them my particular pistol has no red flags and was manufactured in October of 1992. While denying any recall or past problems with the model he nevertheless told me I was more than welcome to send it in for them to examine for evaluation, saying that they would replace any obsolete or worn parts at no charge. He didn't push the idea, but rather put it out there casually.
Hmmm....
Was he saying that to discreetly have me send it in to replace something, or merely being customer friendly? I haven't noted any problems thus far, so perhaps the previous owner had sent it in.
Thoughts, anyone?
