I have a new Glock 22 with about 400 rds in it. I noticed that I was hearing the spring that surrounds the slide guide rod when I cycled the slide. I field stripped and the head of the guide rod had been popped out of its grove on the bottom side of the barrel. I reset the position and the problem persisted after a short # of cycles when I was doing dry fire exercises. Is this common? any fixes?

Perfectly normal.

The notch in the barrel that the guide rod sets in with the slide off is only for assembly.

It is supposed to pop out of the notch and seat itself in the frame the first time the slide is cycled.

I guess I thought it a problem because I have not had the problem on my other two glocks (models 20 and 21) I don't recall hearing the spring contacting the other interior parts.
