Selling off your loved ones guns, when they should be cherrished, is the real sin here. Must be gun haters, last name of Brady, crack heads, or all the above!!
Some people don't value them like we do. That doesn't necessarily make them "gun haters, last name of Brady, crack heads, or all the above". Say I inherited a beautiful, high quality quilting loom from a grandmother or something. Should I stick it in the basement and cherish it? Seriously, *** good is it to someone who has no idea how to use it, and no interest in learning? So yeah, I'd sell it. Granted, I'd do the research and find out it's value first, but not everyone is so prudent-especially girls when it comes to guy stuff. That doesn't make it OK to be a vulture. She could have got near twice what he paid from a
pawn shop!
Like I said, were it me in his position, I'd tell her what they're (honestly) worth, what I'm willing to pay (less than that) and let her decide. That way, I could sleep at night.
The Garand is worth $600-$800
The DW $400-$600
The Carbine, $350-$500
The SKS is $250
The Mosin, $80-$120
That's a total between $1,700 and $2,250, possible more, depending on specifics of the Carbine and Garand.
I'd have offered $1,000 for that lot, been willing to go up to $1,300.
