Wow you got it covered alright! Nice!

Get on that M&P45 while they still have the rebate and mag offer ($50 mail in and 2 free mags).

Great collection I am jealous. Hoover....you really need a S&W 645, 4506, 4567, and 4516 for the collection to be complete...LOL

Great guns!

Wow, that is a collection of 45s! Nice diversity!

I'm the new guy on the block, trying to buy his first autoloader in .45, and I come across a picture like that!!!

Wow.

Another thread to follow.

How about some Star's in .45? The Star PD was one the earliest compact and lightweight .45's to hit the market, probably 30 years ago. You don't really see that many of the full size PS models, but I'm sure there are some of them out there. And although they did seem to suffer from a number of quality issues, the Llama Omni was still an advanced and interesting design. An H&K P9S would also round out the collection; but I have to say that's a very nice group of guns that you have there.

I had a SW99/45. It was accurate, reliable, and handled well.

The only thing I did not like, and it was a deal breaker, was when they grew it up too 45, the grip ended up being too long and the gun too tall overall. About a half inch of grip sticking out past the bottom of my hand.

Do not like the XD45 and new HK45 for the same reason. The M&P45 is shorter, fits much better in my hand.

The SW99 is probably at the bottom of the list as far as which .45 I prefer. It's light and the DA trigger is pretty decent but there are a lot of other things I don't care about it. Like Broken arrow said, the grip is really too long in relation to the barrel giving it a rather unbalanced look. The decocking plate is also rather oddly placed IMHO. While it does reduce a snag point and it may be true that you should never have to worry about "speed decocking", it's still awkward to work with. The bigger problem though is the single action trigger is creepy, gritty and has a lot of takeup with no real definitive set point. A Glock for example has the spongy takeup then firm resistance to let you know that the sear is ready to let the striker fly forward with just a little more pressure. The SW99 doesn't really have that and you wind up squeezing more and more wondering if it will ever go off. It's just a trigger that doesn't lend itself to decent accuracy. I know it's a combat trigger and the SW99 could be considered "combat accurate" but other triggers like the Glock, Sig, XD and USP trigger can also be considered "combat triggers" but they are still better than the SW99. While the light weight can be an advantage when it comes to prolonged carry, it is also the most snappy, sharp recoil out of my entire collection. Another issue I've had with my SW99 is that majority of the time, the slide fails to lock back when the magazine goes empty. It might be something that can be solved with a stronger spring but again, it's my only .45 that has this problem with other designs not really having this problem to begin with. I'm not really into selling guns out of my collection but if choices had to be made, my SW99 would be the first of my .45s to go down the road.
