So I have a couple 22 conversions for 1911's and have been swapping uppers around. In the process I have miss placed one of my guide rod spring plugs. I have looked closely at the ones I have and I have two stainless ones that are shorter length for the commander I assume. I have a colt Commander stainless. I have a Dan Wesson heritage full-size stainless. Both stainless guide rod plugs are the same shorter lengths. Is there any reason why you wouldn't use a commander guide rod plug in a full-size 1911? I can see why you wouldn't longer one in a commander.
