Is there any compact/subcompact gun that has similar grip angles to the p2000sk? I assume p2000 has same angle

I know glock definitely doesn't. I tried m&pc 9mm this weekend and it aims a slight bit high.. even tho it looks very close. Sigs are just too big for my hand to reach da trigger

Are there any other choices? I haven't tried a compact cz series or xd yet

Looking for 9mm, .40, or .45.. any of those 3 will do. nothin else plz.

or the FNX has controls more similar to HK's (and cost a lot less):

Perhaps a Sig with the smaller or shorter trigger. The standard Sig trigger is fat and they do make a smaller trigger that is thinner and easier for some to reach.

Otherwise I might suggest the Walther P99 series. It has the European magazine release like the P2000 and is a DA/SA or a DAO gun as well.

The CZ has become really highly regarded but I have no experience with them. They do seem nice though. I also would recommend that perhaps you try a Sig P250.

The Glock 4th Generation has interchangeable backstraps which might work for you.

those two look pretty interesting. Any comments on the concealability? or are there possibly any back to back pics? against a uspc or p2000 or something? The look kinda big to me right now and according to round count I saw I might be right? Do they have compact versions?

I actually tried a p99 .. I forget who made it (wasn't walther) but it was a .40 version of something that walther also makes. the recoil in the .40 felt so much more than the p2000 ><. And I shot horribly w/ it. I definitely know the p99's grip angle is more like a glock though - lots of angle on it

Sounds like you want a P2000. Save up a bit more and buy what you want the first time around. I can tell you from personal experience that sacrificing what you really want to save money only leads to selling what you settled for and losing money upgrading to what you wanted in the first place.

I have a P2000sk and it is probably my favorite handgun design out there. I won't part with it for anything. H&K is top-notch when it comes to reliability and quality. I actually just bought a CPO Sig P229 .40 that should be here in a few days. Sig makes a great shooting pistol as well. Have you thought about a Sig P239? It might fit your hand better and points similarly to a P2000. Only thing is it's a single stack magazine (if that matters to you).

I've owned a Walther P99 .40 and I agree with you in that it's very unpleasant to shoot in .40s&w. That's why I sold it actually. My USP.40 Compact manages recoil much better than that thing.

Anyhow, just save up and get what you really want. You'll be happier in the long run if you do. Good luck!

I found the closest thing to my P2000sk was the Walther P99c. If my much loved and carried HK ever was unavailable for service, the Walther could step in and fill the gap with very little noticable change in my shooting ability.

The HK is the pistol against which I judge all carry guns. The Walther is the closest thing to the HK's perfection made. In fact the only tangible difference is that one is hammer fired and one is striker fired, and I prefer the hammer.

Both my Walther and HK were chambered in 9mm. Both are accurate, easy to shoot pretty quickly and conceal about the same.

usp9:

I had a Walther P99c/AS, and I have an HK P2000sk V3.

At one time I thought the P99c/AS was the perfect 9MM cc choice, but after relieving my need for "instant gratification" with the newly released PPS I sold the P99c/AS.

Bad mistake.

In my experience the P99c/AS was a wonderful pistol, and the first series, low serial numbered PPS was a POS.

To make a long story short S&W CS wound up sending me a new PPS to replace my POS PPS, and I sold it. Chances are more recent PPS's are just fine, but I don't want one.

Anyway I took the money from selling the PPS and started looking around for another P99c/AS but somehow made a turn to H&K and bought a new P2000sk (V3) instead.

My original P99c/AS was amazingly accurate, and absolutely reliable. I miss it.

But..

My P2000sk is equally accurate and reliable, and I like the TDA w/hammer.. I would feel well armed with either and the only down side I found with the Walther (as imported by S&W) is the one year warranty on the P99c/AS..

I would suggest anyone considering the purchase of a Walther P99c/AS check out the S&W version (SW99?).. My buddy has the Smith and he and I shot them head to head and both pistols were equally accurate and reliable.

The SW99 comes with a lifetime warranty, backed by S&W who have a great reputation for CS, and the price "should" be cheaper than a Walther P99c/AS.

It's my understanding that the SW99 is a German made P99c with the exception of the barrel and slide (?) which are made by S&W.

I could be wrong, been wrong before. :what:

FWIW, I'm glad I bit the bullet and paid the price for the P2000sk V3 because it's so good I've quit looking for anything else in 9MM.. IMHO the P2000sk is a fine, fine cc 9MM pistol.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

P.S. I like having the option of using the 13rd P2000 mags (w/Xgrip).. As good as the smaller SK is, and with the capability of using the higher capacity mags of the full size P2000, for cc duty, I don't know why anyone would buy a P2000 over the easier to conceal SK.

No offense to P2000 fans.. Just making an observation.

I do have a p2000 in .40 and I already tried the uspc - sold it for the p2000. ;)

I'm just adding a cheap gun to my collection that won't stray too far from my current collection hehe

no need to recommend any HKs to me ;) I already have the 3 that I want ;)

looks like xd, fnp, and czp07 right now.. are any of these p2000sk size by chance? or more like p2000 size
