Gun show in Columbus, GA, 20-21 Mar

I dunno whether to stick this in General or Rallying Point, but here goes:

20-21 Mar., gunshow at the National Guard Armory on Victory Drive, just down the street from Carl Gregory Dodge, in Columbus, GA. Anyone else going? I hope to be there around 9, maybe 10ish AM provided I'm caught up on anything at work the Friday before. If not then, then definitely Sunday. Just a heads up for anyone who didn't know, I didn't find out 'till I saw it on a billboard off Talbotton Rd. yesterday.

There's one in Gainesville at The Georgia Mountain Center that same weekend.

And a big one, the thrice-annual Alabama Gun Collector's Association show in Birmingham the same weekend as well.

I was wondering when we were going to have a gun show.

I live in Columbus, over by Double Churches Elementary, in Moore's Forest, and I'll be there.

If weather permitting, I'll be on my blue Harley Road King with it's sidecar.

If bad weather, look for the guy on wrist crutches and an artificial right leg.

Trade center show

How are the shows in Columbus? I drove up to one last year in Atlanta and I have never seen so much junk. Cheap swords, brass knuckles, comic books and greasy food. There were a few guns there but mostly beat up pieces. I really was not that impressed. iwas looking for a Sig 228 but I could buy a new Sig from our local shop cheaper than the one 228 I saw there.

Last time I went, I got there too late. I was gonna get an LCP and they were all sold, so I guess it was okay.

All I ended up getting was a cushioned black zipper bag to keep my 1911 in.

But, now that I have a new AR 15, I'm gonna get there early and see what I find.

Boy, that was your lucky day not to be able to buy an LCP, hopefully you didn't buy the SR9 either.

Actually, chuckusaret, I did buy an LCP, at my local gun shop, and so far I've enjoyed it. I have already done the recall thing and got it back.

It's in my pocket as I type this.

I didn't get the SR9 - didn't have a need for a 9mm. Because I picked up one of those used German police Sig P6's (a 9mm), It's a real smooth and a pleasure to shoot.

I've been attending the Columbus shows for the last year, and they have been steadily shrinking in terms of vendors and product. The one this coming Saturday may reverse the trend, however.

I doubt I will be after any new hardware this time. I need ammo, lotsa ammo, and a laser for my xD.
