Gun show in Columbus, Ohio also

I'm not affiliated with the show, I go to it all the time so just wanted to let others know. It is at Westland Mall.

I used to get exited when a gunshow hit town. I feel like it's more of an obligation to go now...and particularly at Westland. But I'll probably stop by there.

Probably not- but ya never know what might turn up. This time of the year it will be *ss*s and elbows in there.

Went to the show today. Was searching for S&W handguns. Geez, you would think a bunch could be found. Not so! Glocks everywhere. Did find at a booth a nice NIB engraved "40th Anniversary Ohio Highway Patrol" 1933-1973 Model 10. Original wooden box and all for $450. The seller wouldn't go lower. Probably should have bought it. Did an internet search when I got home and discovered only 2025 were made by S&W. You snooze, you loose.

I was hunting today, but went there around 3:45. I heard it was packed, but no one was buying anything. Your OHP S&W might still be there tomorrow. I ended up picking up a well used Marlin lever gun. An hour was plenty of time there. I sure do wish they'd move it back to Hilliard.

Those P.R.O. show guys are on a circuit and everybody knows everybody, and what they have. If They find out someone gave a good deal there let em know how much money they throw away. So they all charge full on book price for everything. therefore know body byes *hit other than ammo and other exercises that aren't worth shipping in.

I went Sat and no one budged much on price but I still walked out with a H&K USP .45 for $635.......also got night sights and a 3.5 lb trigger put on my Glock 19

I drove up from the Cincy area Saturday, even though there was a Bill Goodman show going on within ten minutes of my house this weekend. Suppose it depends on what one is looking for, but to me the PRO shows have a far better selection of actual gun 'n' knife related stuff. If you want a butane torch lighter however, Goodman's shows are the place..

Anyhow, found me a Colt Gov't model in 9x23 caliber, LNIB up there at Westland. Sort of a rarity, but by the next day the gun was no longer unfired. (If I want art I'll buy a painting!) Think I did okay for $700, no tax or papers?

Sounds like you did well. did you see the competition modfied Sig that was $1150...I almost bought that one. Too many scratches for that price though.

Yes, think I saw the Sig you mentioned. Was actually looking more for a 4" Model 29/629 S&W, but my rule is never go into a show or store set on one choice only. (The .44 mags in the place seemed too expensive Saturday, so went on to plan B, C, etc.)

The other good thing about this show was that at least some folks brought in guns to peddle/swap off. This aisle selling helps the shows overall IMO, since it is to the advantage of both tableholders and walk-ins alike to have a bigger selection to choose from. Sadly, it seems many people are scared to buy/sell/trade with others in the aisles nowadays. I've brought guns in to trade over the years, and lately it's harder to get anybody to take a look, unless you're practically giving it away!

I think people are looking for some "steal" when trying to deal with those walking about selling their guns. I think what people fail to realize is that those that are sellling them know how much they are worth and those looking to buy don't want to pay the asking price which for the most price is very reasonable compared to what some of the dealers are asking. I have heard that the one in Wilmington is a really good one that's in Feb. I've never been but I've been told that they have people who stand outside the gate waiting for people to walk in with guns for sale.

I've actually gotten several 'steals' over the years and sold a few. Bought one of the Ishapore Enfield .308s and a CZ pistol at under table price, both were excellent quality.

Sold an SKS that had gas problems to someone, I did fully inform them but the price was half off dealer, I of course had paid $30 less than that. Then took that money and bought one hoping *it* worked, it did and the wood is better. :-D I love the Indy 1500
