Looks like there is a militaria and gun show this weekend at the Morocco Shrine Temple in Jacksonville Florida. I've heard little to nothing about it, but did see it advertised online in a place or two.
I missed the last one, but a friend went. Said it was packed with dealers and sellers. Hopefully, those vendors will realize that people are getting their tax checks back...and carry a good inventory. Last time I went (many months ago), it was mostly collectible and militeria instead of weaponry.
Starfuryzeta, did you have any luck at the show? I went looking for an SKS (carbon_15's truck gun is to blame). I found a beat-up Romanian one priced at $600 ("Of course it's expensive! That there is Stalin's personal rifle, son.") and I found a Norinco priced at $200 that wasn't in bad shape. I would have bought that one, but got real wierd vibes from the seller and declined the sale ("That's my brother's rifle. It's not on paper. Private sale. Yup, not registered. You can buy that and walk out of here without signin' nothin' and the law won't be none the wiser.").
I walked around a bit more and after sorting through some more overpriced C&R pieces (K-31s for $300!), I found an absolutely gorgeous Enfield jungle carbine (I think.. it was short and had no wire wrap) with near spotless wood. Unfortunately, said piece was in the hands of its happy buyer when I found it. :banghead:
At the local dealer's table (I think it was Shooters on University), they had some good prices on Keltec's and S&W airweights....but like everyone else, way overpriced on everything else. Didn't get a thing.
