A buddy from work is moving to California and doesn't want to take any guns. At work he talked like he had some real nice guns so I brought enough cash to buy. When I got to his house and seen what he had I knew I would not need even half the cash that I brought with.

Included in this package deal is....
-Crosman (non-firearm) Model 2100 BB/pellet rifle,

-Savage Model 187 Series A, Semi Auto .22LR with very lite minor rust in a few spots. I figure that if it functions properly its monetary value is around $45-$85. Better yet! I have a nephew who in a few years will be ready for his first rifle.

-Winchester Model 320, .22LR, bolt action, magazine fed, missing the magazine. Very lite rust if you look hard. This gun has a good feel to it, feels like high quality. I'll need to find a magazine for it. Monetary value? I have no idea but I would guess $150 to $200.

-H&R Topper Jr. Model 490 single shot 20 gauge shot gun, reciever is case hardened color.Lite rust here & there. Value....Not much.
and the reason I went to see these guns is a

-Ithaca Model 37 Featherweight pump action 12 gauge shot gun in excellent condition. From where the reciever starts to the muzzel the barrel measures 27.25" so ithink that means its a 27 inch barrel? Atop the barrel is a vented rib with a flourecent orange front sight.
Value...no more than $300.

I also got a wooden 4 gun gun rack in what I call 'garage' condition, (good'nuff for the garage). and 27 rds. of Federal .357 Mag, 13 rounds of old CCI aluminum cased .357 and 10 rounds of old .38 Special 'Super-Vel'.
Now I have 56 rounds of Super-Vel in .38 SPL.

All the above stuff cost me $225. I think I got a 'Good' deal and I think he got a good deal.
What do you guys think?
I didin't own a shot gun, now I do.

BTW: He also has an excellent condtion S&W 686, 6 incher in stainless that he bought new "a long time ago". Long enough to where this gun has the firing pin on the hammer and big coke bottle wood grips.
And a stainless steel H&R .22LR 9-shot revolver with 4" heavy bull barrel and I would like to get them both but he's not ready to let them go.

Any Comments or Info on the .22LR Winchester 320, the Savage Semi-auto or the H&R .22LR 9-shot revolver or any of the above mentioned stuff would be appreciated.
Also, where can I get a couple magazines for the Win. Model 320?

Thanks Alot Everyone!

4 firearms (& 5 guns) for $225? Um, I'd say you got a good deal. Now you've got a couple guns (the BB gun and the Savage) that are gifts you won't have to buy for family members.
As for the Winchester, just a simple google search gave me this:
http://www.gunclips.net/wi320gunma.html

The 320 could be a fun little plinking rifle, I'd clean it up and just have fun with it. The H&R 20ga sounds like another good gift idea, and the Ithaca 37 is a definite "must" to hang onto.

concurred on the M37

if there is but one gun to grab, that would be the one.

The Winchester 320 is the predecessor to the Kimber .22. Top quality gun.

Great deal...no help on the pistols though...pistols, revolvers in particular, are just not my thing. :)

Got The Smith 686!

Ok, I got the guns home, inspected, cleaned and to the range.
I agree with post#5, CoRoMo......
The 'Savage Model 187' rates as an excellent tomato stake!
This is one poorly made piece of crapola. The only piece of steel on the gun is the barrel...ithink its steel? Everything else is plastic or sheet metal. I think the stock is painted particle board! It won't feed but if you can get a round chambered by hand it will go bang. Can I get $85 for it?...No friggin way. I'll use it as a deal sweetener.
The Ithaca M37 12 gauge, Winchester M320 .22LR and the H&R single shot 20ga. are all good. I especially like the high quality and made in Omark, Australia Winchester 320.

I probably paid too much but i did eventualy get the stainless steel S&W model 686 with 6 inch barrel and the stainless H&R model 905 .22LR 9-shot wheel with 4" ribbed bull barrel. I spent a day shooting both and both are good to go. I got both for $600.....Ouch?
The Smith was made in 1982. The cylinder drag line is almost non-existant.
2 weeks earlier when I bought the 4 rifles he tossed in 3 partial boxes of .357 ammo. Collectivly, there were 100 rounds missing from the 3 boxes. Then when I bought the Smith he told me I had already got the ammo that was left from when he bought the Smith. So I asked him, 'Was that the only ammo you tried in the Smith'? He said yes and the gun was supposed to be for hunting but he never got around to it and quit hunting right after he got the Smith. I've shot this gun 5 times as much in 7 days as he has in 27 years!
Thats it.

BTW, Do you think $600 for the excellent, at least 90% condtion 686 and H&R 905 was too much?

Hm. Well, the 320's the one I'd be excited about. You'd be doing good for what you paid, for just that and the #37. You took him a bit, but he made up for it when you bought the wheelguns. :) All in all, you both ended up not too bad, though you probably a bit better than he.

I've got one of those Model 187s. Bah. I've had enough of it with crappy .22 rifles handed down from family...

Before I came of shooting age, most of my family's armament consisted of crap and one good shotgun, with like 10 rounds of ammunition. And then I got a good .30-30 and .22 rifle from my grandfather. Everything since then has been of my purchasing, and I've only brought top quality equipment.
