Don't laugh, but..

Another Rossi nomination, the older M851 4", is a well balanced and accurate piece. Going on 17 years with mine and it's probably fired at least a couple thousand rounds. Everyone who shoots mine likes it, leaving my other guns on the bench.

For me there are 5 so far.

1. A 1911 with thin grips

2. S&W M&P pro 9mm

3. BHP mark III

4. S&W 642 performance center with wood grip

5. CZ 75b

Unfortunately I have never tried a cz75, but everybody says they fit like a glove. The Beretta 92, FN FNS and FNX, and the M&p with medium grips all felt great in my hand. Guns that didn't feel good: Glock, sr9, and the 1911.

1873 Winchester

and a Colt peacemaker (or copies thereof). Unfortunately it seems I was born a 125 years to late.;)

Bobtail 1911's fit my hand really good. From the first time I held one I knew I had to have one. I prefer a commander size over a government, they seem more balanced... I usually shoot my shorter 1911s more than 5 inchers.

Any 1911 with a flat MSH.

If it has an alloy frame, so much the better.
If it has slim grips, so much the better.
If it is 4" or smaller, so much the better.

Can we draw a conclusion from the above three statements?

Any steel framed, P&R S&W revolver with a barrel of 3-4" and a caliber starting with .4. Okay, one with .357 will do in certain circumstances...and 5" will be acceptable for M27s.

See? I am flexible. :)

Three guns come readily to mind.

The first time I shook hands with a Round Butt K frame Smith wearing Magna stocks it was love at first squeeze. The shape and balance was perfect with the little 2.5" barrel.

When the Browning X-Bolt first came out I went down to my LGS the check them out. I have never felt anything like it. No other rifle I have ever shouldered snaps up in place like it. Perfect.

And lastly the Marlin 1894C. I was skeptical the first time I laid eyes on it. People on the forums and friends from work all raved about them, but the straight, stubby stock and little lever looked funky to my eye. It felt nice in my hands but wasn't on love with it. Love came at the end of the first magazine.

Just saw Santa Claus leave. Noisy Fat jerk woke me up. ;) since I am up though figured I would comment. These ones feel right and shoot well;
S&W model 27-2.
M1 Garand
Ruger Blackhawk Hunter in 41 mag.
Colt SAA (well I don't have the original but my knock off feels lovely)
TC Encore pro Hunter
Barretta M9 which surprised me. Have yet to get one.

I have always selected handguns on "feel." That being said, the Beretta Cheetah 84 settled into my left hand like it had been custom made for me. I am nominally ambidextrous and right eye dominate, but now I have a designated left handed gun.

One handgun felt right from the start, the Browning Hi-Power. Wish they still made them in .40 S&W

For shotguns, my 1880's William Powell hammer gun. Nothing modern seems as nice. I seem to like a lot of drop in my shotguns.

Sig 226

S&W 5906 & 915 - with the straight grips

and . . . don't laugh at this one . . .

S&W Gen 2 Sigma and the Gen 3 Sigma - SD Series.

Feel right - just out of the box ?

They all have . Can't think of any that didn't, right now . The 1911's stand out, and if you count military surplus, the CZ-82 did too . Now that I am thinking of mil-surp, the P-64 didn't . The grip was too large for my hand (especially for a small PPK type), and the trigger guard had uncomfortable sharp edges . Maybe I'll remember more later ? :)

My SIG SP2022 and P238 both felt right and shoot just as right, my P250SC is less comfortable but it does shoot well for a DAO automatic.

And of course, my Ruger GP100 and SP101 .357's are right up there, too.

Browning HP, first time I shot one it belonged to a friend. Had to go out and buy one after that. The CZ's are very close but not quite as good in my hand.

Any of the Colt target grips found on Pythons, Troopers, etc.

Here's what feels best to me:

1) Old-school S&W revolvers... with bluing and wooden boot grips. These just make me happy!

2) Marlin lever guns. Everything about these also makes me happy!

3) Gen-3 Glocks. I have big hands, and the Gen-3 Glocks just fit me well. The triggers are not so good, of course, but they always work.

:)

I always thought that the German Luger was a nice feel in my hand. 2nd would be the Hi-power, then a Walther PP, the CZ-82, and believe it or not, a 3/4 size Colt Single Action Army. I have smaller hands and it just feels great.

WJT4

CZ 75BD PCR - in the 10 ring from the first shot.
BHP C series
Kimber Gold Combat

All tack drivers.

The best first impression feel of any gun was a CZ 83. The first time I picked one up I was stunned ad how perfect it felt

for rifles it would have to be the M1 Garand. For semi-auto handguns it would be any of the CZ 75 line but the SP-01 fits beautifully and for wheel guns S&W l frames.

my vote definitely goes to the m1 garand, and oddly the vz58 just felt natural to me. For pistols i would have to go with a 1911 or cz75b
