Guns with knife pics

Whew!

Charles S, I can see why you like that hi-power. You've got the grip thing down. They really compliment that pistol. Great Spyderco and nasty lil' tanto. Yikes... bad mice! :)

Gewehr98, that pic of heavy metal is a keeper. May I ask what the drop point fighter is? That's a solid looking knife. The Luger is in wonderful condition. Great pic. Evil looking lite fighter too.

Nice play Ewok-dude. Is that a special edition 1911? It's sweet, and that seems to be a powerful knife design.

Thanks for letting us peek in the safe folks. Don'tcha love digital photography?

Charles S: I'll join in the complements on your Hi Power and assorted accoutrements. I've recently acquired a Hi Power, have the Streamlight, have the Spydie Military, but am most interested in the grips on your Hi Power. Where'd ya get 'em? geegee

geegee,

If you can believe it I found the grips in a "discard bin" of grips that had been replaced in Praco Guns in Waco Texas. I think I paid 19.00 plus tax for the grips. I was told someone took them off a BHP for a set of Pachmeyer Presentation Grips:what: .

Their loss my gain.:D

I am not sure who orginally made the grips.

BTW I really, really wood grips sold by Houge for the BHP.

Gewehr98,

Very nice, I have always wanted a 590, but I have never ran across the right deal. :banghead: I guess I should buy one new.

Great Gun:D

Charles

Thumper,

You are most correct sir. My mistake!:what: I usually don't make errors of that magnitude. I noticed that bayonet lug and assumed it was a 590 at a glance, when it is clearly a 870.

You are correct I do know the difference :banghead:

Oh well not my first mistake, certainly won't be my last.

Regards,

Charles

Dig Charles, Dig! :D

We're having as much fun as you are. Man, that S&W is the best one yet. Rivals Tamera's beauty, let me inquire about the finish? And who made that gorgeous skinner??

G98, whatever model it is, nobody is gonna argue with you! ;) Cool weapon.

Mitch, that's two compact beauties ya got there. Is that my leather jacket you borrowed??

What a great online gunshow. Makes for a great desk-top slide screensaver. Tamera's Smith (fade to) Charles' hi-power (fade to) G98's German iron, etc.

PS: Griz, that's cold. Funny though. :)

Braz,

The S&W 29 started life as a very, very accurate polished blue 6" barrel square butt.

Whitehead Custom ported the barrel, re-cut the crown, narrowed & polished the trigger, narrowed and rounded the target hammer in a combat style, removed the bottom edge from the cylinder latch to allow faster speed loads and to keep it from cutting under heavy recoil, dehorned the gun for carry and finished it with a Black Teflon bake on finish very similar to the proprietary Black T finish. The finish is not as hard as I would like, but no other complaints.

The knife is a custom Dozier Slim Outdoorsman. Arguably the finest knife I have ever owned. Dozier ships his knives with a custom Kydex sheath.

I will see what else I can dig up in the next day or two. I probably can come up with something else.

The blades with my guns...

Save for the M16 bayonet on the Remington 870, they're all customs, made by an old friend in Citrus Heights, Dick Bancroft, aka Dirty Dick. (D/D for short, and his trademark)

The parkerized 01 steel w/red linen micarta scales, seen with my 1984-vintage Desert Eagle, is his "Field & Bloodstream" model, commissioned for me when I was heading off to Desert Shield and Desert Storm. It remains in my helmet bag for the current contingency, and will continue to do so until I retire from the Air Force in 3 years.

The 154CM stainless bent-spine monster, seen with the 1918 DWM Luger, is his "Mrs. Doubtfire Kitchen Fighter", and has seen a LOT of use in our kitchen. I don't even bother to oil the black paper micarta scales anymore.

The little 154CM stainless bootfighter with black linen micarta scales and brass guard, seen with the Caspian Officer's ACP, is a what-if he built on a whim, that just fit my hand perfectly.

Below is a handy 154CM stainless skinner, with red and black linen micarta scales, posed against my IPSC-modded 1911A1. It carries the name of "Gook Cup", or "Raunchorinco". If you look at both 1911 variants, you'll see Dick's trademark D/D on them in various places. He built them for me, too. :D

Gewehr98,

You have a dramatic collection of both guns and knives.

Thanks for the information on the knives; you friend does some very impressive work. I really like the skinner you just posted. That is truly my type of knife. :D

I have really enjoyed this thread, thanks for sharing your tools.

Deer season....

This is a typical set for Deer Season. I know I don't NEED the BK&T Combat/Utility-7, but have you ever heard of "Research and Developemet"?

Stainless M70 Classic-.308
BK&T C/U-7
CUDA Mini-TALON neck knife/skinner

I miss deer season already:rolleyes:

Hey Charles...I've got some good Hog Killin' bottoms about 40 miles east of you.

Want to do some pistol hunting this summer?

Thumper,

I am most honored by the request. I have always wanted to hunt hogs with a handgun. I have never had the opportunity. I have some 320 gr hard cast loaded to 1270 by CorBon. Do you think that might be adequate?:D

I would be happy to accept the invite, just let me know the details at your convenience, and let me know what I can do to assist.

Thanks,

Charles

You know where Stamps is?

We should continue on PM...BTW...My folks live up there, anyone for an Arkansas TFL get together?

Hmmm...Colt Defender, with a Boker Brend, complete with politically incorrect Brend logo

How about a S&W 4567, this is really one of my most favorites. I think everyone needs one, oh wait S&W mail a little less than 1500 of them, nice guns with factory Trijicon night sights.

Cold Steel push dagger, Benchmade 721 and a Surefire 9Z.

Cool!

Looks like Charles has discovered the art of the "plonk"! (Plonk gun on flatbed of scanner, cover with colored cloth of choice, and press scan button...) ;)

Aagh!!! :what: I've been discovered. :banghead:You are most correct sir :D , the only problem I have found is it a limiting medium and I can't figure out how to scan the long guns in yet. Give me time I will work it out.
