Never thought I would get a Winchester 1897 Riot or a Remington 31R.

I fell into a trade for the 1897 when I unexpectedly found myself the owner of a Winchester 88 in .308 that I did not like one bit.

I had given up on getting a 31R because they were all $1500 and up. This one showed up on an automatic alert that I forgot I had on Gunbroker, and because of the wear to the stock finish it sold for about $365. The worn original finish does not affect the operation of the gun or my enjoyment.:)

I keep tripping over almost unfired Colt Commandos, Colt Woodsman, and S&W Victory Models at estate sales recently.

All those old guys like us are dying off.

And the 50 year old kids, and 20 something grandkids would rather have the money to pay off collage loans, or buy the latest I-Phone for themselves!

I march to a difrent drummer than most, and rarely "follow the herd". So I have scoffed at AR's for years. Not sure what happened, but a couple month ago I freaked out and bought one anyway. It is alot more fun and useful than I ever imagined.

Never thought i would own a 1911-A1, due to having shot one years back that was so loose it rattled like 5 Lbs of nuts-n-bolts in a bucket..and it could hit side of bran, fired from inside the barn.

I now have 2 a Springfield Champion & a GI-45.

Never thougt much about Mossberg guns, either...Now have 3 Maverick 88 as my HomeLand Security shotgun, a 500 w/28" mod choke barrel, and an ATR-100 .30-06

and it could hit side of bran, fired from inside the barn.
If you knew how to shoot then like you do now?

They could have hit the barn from the outside too I betcha!

I shot expert in the Army over and over again with 1911 range training guns that fell apart if you shook them too hard.

Pretty much all my guns were guns I'd never heard of before buying, but that I enjoyed learning about. The one exception I never thought I'd own was the Five-seveN pistol, simply because of all the stupid albatrosses hanging around its neck. Actually shooting one was so fun I then caved, and have enjoyed the heck of it ever since.

Lever actions. Of course, I though I might get one. I don't realize how much I would like them.

Nearly all of the guns that I now own. For many years I was completely out of the gun world, and what I had were in a different state. Losing both parents and getting a small inheritance changed that. Wife knows I have quite a few, but she's never seen them all out at one time, in one place! She'd probably have a cow.

Never thought I would own:

a laminated stock with light light wood

a new stainless left handed bolt action

a heavy barrel .223

a Savage

I like my new Savage 12VLPSS so well I bought it a Leupold VX3 for its birthday!

Never thought I would own an AR, technically I don't. It's an M&P15T, but close enough. Not for government work, but... well you get the point.
Never thought I would own an EMP. Thought it was way too expensive. Once I get off my lazy behind and send it back so's it goes all the way back into battery with hollow points, I'll likely change my mind.
Certainly never thought I would own a Glock, or any polymer pistol for that matter. Carry a 19 now in a comfy, comfy hybrid holster, an MTAC Minotaur. Never thought I would have anything to do with kydex, either. At least it was made here in Texas.

Never would have thought about buying a CZ-75. Until a heard all the talk when I joined here and then got to handle one.

For awhile I followed the Anti-AR hype from TV shows and whatnot. Then, I found them to be reliable and amazing. Glad I snapped back into reality.

There are a lot of guns that I want to own, so it's pretty hard for me to find one that I never would want.

I always scoffed at the idea of owning an AR15. Suddenly I feel compelled to buy one, or two, or three. It is now my next buy gun.

Never thought that I would own a M1 Garand and then I fell into a private deal. I paid the going price for it but but it was a price I could afford without a waiting period for it to be shipped to me.

Hello friends and neighbors // I had to think about this one for a bit.

I'd say the 1861 DOM, Colt, 1851 Navy,.36cal.-- Still indexes fine--
It is an honor to have this piece of American History.

The Colt definitely feels proper in my hand when reading The Spy of the Rebellion.
Written by Alan Pinkerton, Head of the Union Intelligence Service during the Civil War.

I like the old Military Shotguns as well, outstanding Model 31, bushmaster1313.

I never thought I'd own any type of AR. I finally got one and now understand why people like them so much. FWIW, a friend who felt the same way shot mine. He looked at me, smiled, and said that's a heck of a lot of fun!

Have disliked Glocks forever and even call my friends "glockies" for owning the plastic guns. Well, a bud invited me to shoot his at a meet two weeks ago---man, that is the sweetest shooting piece of machinery I ever held. Accurate and smooth as buttermilk. I turned around and just looked sheepish as those who know looked and laughed at my grinning. Will be joining the dark side soon but please do not tell anyone--lol.

I realized I was a Glock basher without ever handling one. I decided that I need to have an open mind and try one. It shoots well and I can group shots quite nicely.

They appear to be good guns, but they're still brick-butt ugly. I'm still a metal guy.

Add me to the "I can't believe that I like ARs" crowd. A few years back, I had no desire for this type of rifle. It all started when I bought a Mini-14 tactical version to carry on my tractor as a coyote rifle. I like it so much that it started me looking at the AR family. I have now purchased a M&P 15-22 and really like it. My next one will most likely be a M&P 15 .223 to match the .22.

My handgun tastes have always been for semiautos and I never sought to own a revolver.

Snapped off 2 studs while changing the water pump on an '89 Grand Marquis a few years ago. Got disgusted and traded the car for a .357 Blackhawk.

It's fun to shoot and has me considering handgun hunting for the first time.

I can spend all weekend happily working on my bike, but 4-wheelers drive me up a wall!

Now, I need a good deal on a .357 lever gun, to compliment the Blackhawk. Never imagined wanting a lever gun until recently, either......
