Handgun scope question

Does anyone make a variable handgun scope that starts at 1x and goes up to say 3x or more? I don't like looking through the scope with any magnification at close distances, but want to be able to draw the farther away targets in. Is there such a scope? I checked out some optic sites, and some even say a 1x variable, but it doesn't say anything about any higher power of magnification.

That should give you some options. 2x, 4x, 1.5-4x, 2-7x, on up.

Yes, but I can't recall which company. There is a 1-4 X (28 or 32). I'll try to find it. For my part, I like the TC Arms 2-7, and usually had it set bewteen 3.5 and 3.75.
