maybe i'm drinking from the wrong bottle ? i used cabella's a few times. NEVER did i find them to have the best price on anything. about the only thing going for them might be availability, for certain items. i've called before immediately after receiving their "special" catalog of shooting supplies for "special" customers. upon calling, none of the stuff listed was available. the ammo is overpriced, and then you have to pay shipping, haz-mat, tax whatever. trying to buy locally is a better option as mentioned above.
and another thing, about their customer service. it sucks as far as i'm concerned. got stiffed really bad on the purchase of a black powder revlover kit. one of the items illustrated was illustrated badly, a powder flask, and excuse these poor old eyes for not picking that up, but this flask was a pos. i called immediately and the rep kept me on the line telling me how she uses it and its good and therefore i should keep it. fact is that wasn't the one i wanted. bottom line she wouldn't do anything for me. i bumped the complaint up to corporate, got the same run-around, oh the guy emphatized with me but was willing to split the difference in ordering a replacement flask. that was the last i heard of them. ironically about a month later i get an email asking me to rate this transaction and boy did i let them have it saying everything i just said here. they wouldn't publish it ! so all those reviews they post from suppossedly satisfied customers is alot of crap! they only publish those that don't offer criticism. there are MUCH better outfits than cabellas to do business with.
