Just got it back - the slide. Not the best pics so far, but good enough to see.

I had it done by Tripp Research. He's done a few guns of mine - he did ruin a 1911. But, all the non stop praise, and my urge to hard chrome this slide made me take another chance.. Probably stupid after that 1 messed up gun.

But this one came out great :)

I made a mistake - I was thinking of my Walther date code - If is an AF slide and the inside of the frame has AE.

Shipwreck:

Time-out! I have been considering sending 4 pistols to Tripp for hard chroming, 3 of my 1911s and my Browning HP. Please explain the 1911 destruction. Note, my 1911s and my BHP are all 4 extremely reliable and extremely accurate. I will not tolerate any decrease to accuracy or reliability, not to mention the $840.00 for the service and close to $200.00 total for shipping (both ways). Better I be forewarned.

Thanks,

.

It looks good, but I'm curious about something.

What is the purpose of it ?

Doc - I got your PM and returned it -

Whited - I do it one, because I love the look of the hard chrome on a black frame.

And two - it's very durable. The gun is almost scratch proof, unless you scratch it with another metal item. I started doing this with my P99c after it developed holster wear - It held up great,a nd I liked the look. So, my SW99 and fullsize P99 next.

Here are the others:

I've never been a fan of two-tones,but that looks great!

Well, my 2 toned P99s are still my fav. To me a P99 doesn't look right w/o a silver slide...
