I mean besides Marlin back in the late 50's with the levermatic, Has anyone else chambered the .30 carbine in a bolt action rifle. Or has anybody done this on there own and can pass on any useful information. Thanks

Winchester never chambered the Model 70 in .30 Carbine.
Unless it was a single-shot pressure test gun for developing the .30 Carbine cartridge in WWII.

The pre-64 Model 70 Winchesters were produced in 18 calibers as follows:
.22 Hornet
.220 Swift
.243 Winchester
.250 Savage
.257 Roberts
.264 Winchester Magnum
.270 Winchester
7X57MM
.300 Savage
.308 Winchester
.30-06
.300 Winchester Magnum
.35 Remington
.358 Winchester
.375 H&H Magnum
.458 Winchester Magnum.
Also, a very few were produced in 7.65MM and 9X57 MM prior to World War II in an attempt to enter the foreign market.

A Savage 240 would be a .410 over & under shotgun.
But the 340 bolt-action rifle was never chambered in .30 Carbine either.
It was made in .22 Hornet, .222 Rem, .223, and 30-30 WIn.

A Marlin Levermatic wasn't a bolt action. There'd be no demand for a bolt action .30 Carbine. However, an M1 carbine can be turned into a straight pull bolt action by replacing the gas piston and nut with a solid plug that is threaded to screw into the piston nut threads. Literally shuts off the gas system.
One guy, in PA, used an SS bushing that went between the nut and the piston. Supposedly had some issues with pistons that were short. Caused the piston housing to crack.

I am trying to remember where it was but you could buy a chamber insert that would change a 308 or a 30-06 chamber in to a 30 carbine but there were problems with ejecting. But really what is the need as if you reload just use a 110 grain bullet with the appropriate loading. Was this what you were referring to that someone had used in one of the rifles mentioned possibly?

Thanks guys for the info, Yes i know the Marlin levermatic wasn't a bolt gun i have one in 256 win mag. I was just trying to see if someone had ever put the .30 carbine in a Bolt action and not using a chamber insert. From everything i've been able to find it doesn't look like it so might be a future project.
