Have you guys seen CCI's new jacketed 22LR? Uppercut 22 Long Rifle 32 Grain

My wife is extraordinarily recoil and blast-averse; we've tried a variety of guns and calibers, but the thing she shoots best is a .22 revolver (a Ruger LCR); she scored above eight other students in her last CCW renewal class with a perfect score with that thing..

Is it what I want her to carry? Obviously not-but on the other hand, 8 Federal Punch (they penetrate) headed at you quickly and accurately is better than a 9mm veering off into space because she's flinching so hard. Life is about choosing between what you can make work in reality, rather than what would be perfect in the world as we'd want it to be.

Here is some data I ran a few years ago over my chrono from a SW 317 revolver 3 inch barrel for Rem. 36 gr HP.

Being an NRA instructor for 25 years, I have encountered several students that a 22 LR was the the only option they would consider for several reasons. They understood the 22 LR's limitations. I normally recommended CCI Mini-Mags due to my experience with their reliable ignition. Never ran any of those over my chrono in that revolver.

Making the rimfire have more reliable ignition would be better than bullet design in the .22lr

I am guessing this technology comes with a premium price? Not sure it is better for killing squirrels than my Henry rifle with a 22 shotshell cartridge. Not sure it will be any better punching holes in paper in my Model 17 S&W revolver than the Winchester plated ones?
