There are many out there. You've indicated the CZs look tempting. I shot a CZ-75 in .40 S&W (had ambi safety on it too!) that belonged to my insurance man once. Nice.

The S&W Model 5906, which is a 9mm Parabellum, Stainless Steel slide and frame model (mine had the Adjustable sights) was my first handgun. If I was to go back and do it again, I would have gotten the alloy frame 5903 going autoloader. Or skipped it and went to a good Browning Hi-Power!

Thanks again for all responses. I've now narrowed my choice down between three models of the CZ pistols. I'm not in a great hurry to "pull the trigger" on a purchase (so to speak), but I definitely see a CZ coming my way soon. (Perhaps by way of Santa's sleigh.) :D

For the price I think CZ SP-01 are great. In my experience with mine it has been crazy accurate, reliable, and a great looking gun for just over 500 bucks. Cant go wrong with it.

Beretta 9000S, 12+1 9MM, rated for +P, +P+ and SMG 9MM. Great pistol if you can find one, good price now and even better if it fits your hand.

+1 for the Baby Eagle.

Darn things are so incredibly accurate especially in 9mm. If you can find one of the old Jericho 941 and are willing to shell out the bucks, go for it. Otherwise, just check out the current Baby Eagles. Go plink a few boxes with one and you will never regret it.

And +1 to any CZ, Witness, Baby Eagle, etc. heritage of gun just the same.
