Help me decide how to spend my money!

OK - I sorta informally had a beautiful 3" short shroud GP100 put on hold at my favorite gun shop. That was about 2 months ago. Now I found out that my favorite shop kinda sorta accidentally sold it from underneath me!

I really wanted that Ruger! But it's discontinued and he can no longer find any in the supplier system. Big bummer!

So, now I have $300 and no target firearm to spend it on . . . . But I have some ideas. Here they are:

I have a steel framed CZ-85 Compact .40S&W. I'm thinking about sending out the slide to get XS Sight Systems 24/7 Big Dot sights installed. Should I get the Big Dot http://www.expresssights.com/detail.lasso?id=12592313 or the Standard Dot http://www.expresssights.com/detail.lasso?id=12592314 . Do any of YOU have any experience with XS Sight Systems 24/7 Big Dot sights? This mod package will also include a SS Full Length Guide Rod from our very own 12 Volt Man - http://www.jackashcustom.com/ . I already have a holster from HBE Leather on order and a set of Hakan's.

I could also get another CZ-83. I had to reluctantly sell my original one a while back . . . . But I loved the grip-feel and everything about her. I could get another for $300.

Order a CZ-52 and coupla Makarov.com modifications.

Order a CZ-40P or CZ-40B. CDNN still lists them!

There ya have it guys. Those are my choices. But I'll whisper to ya that I'm leaning towards option #1 ( Night Sites on the 85 Compact )

My eyesight ain't what it used to be, but I've passed up good deals on guns I really wanted because they had the XS Big Dot sights on them. IMHO these are sights only Mr. Magoo could love, and good luck with holsters once you put these on. Forget about doing any precision shooting with these.

Unless you know you like them, I'd advice against getting XS Big Dot sights unless its a drop-in, reversable installation.

Can't say I've ever seen the XS standard sights. Plain Black "Novak" style sights seem to work best for me, or Crimson Trace Laser Grips I'm satisified with the sights on my CZ75B as it came from the factory.

FYI

Seller on www.gunsamerica.com shows a used 3" .357 magnum GP-100 w/ short shroud he rates 95%. Comes w/ a holster, and price is $275 plus $20 shipping. He also has a listing that is identical except revolver has a full shroud.

My all time favorite sights are the Heinie "Straight Eights". Something about stacking dots really clicks in my brain and I can shoot them fast and accurately. I had the good fortune of getting to play with a wide varity of 45 ACP pistols and even though the customized HK Tactical and SIG 220 should have had the best potential I severely out-shot them with an slightly worked-over Glock 21 with the Straight Eights, and it was all the sights.

Don't know how much magic it would take to get them on our favorite guns but I'm going to find a way to at least mimic them on my 85 Compact. Too bad I can't find a source for just a night sight front

As an aside; You gotta just love the 85 Compact. Only strike against it is weight and it could use better sights. Everything else is SERIOUSLY RIGHT about this gun. At least for me
