Its British and the guy says it is originally from India. Wants $150 for it - it seems to be in very good condition.

What kind of rifle is it (I should know, its been on the tip of my tongue)?
What should I look for on it?
What is it worth?
Anything else?

Thanks

The picture's a little small, but it does look like a Martini - Henry action. Not sure about the gun as a complete unit though.

The stock, fore-end, and barrel do not appear to be correct for a British military rifle of the type. Sporterized maybe?

Did he say what caliber it was?

I think there were some .22LR rifles built for a while on a Martini type action.

Martini-Henry or Martini-Enfield depending on calibre.
Foreend cut off. What's the British equivalent of "Bubba"?
If it is a M-H in .577-.450 ammunition would be a shocker to pay for or even to get dies and components to load.
If it is a M-E in .303 it would shoot common ammo if sound mechanical condition.
Might be a .22 conversion, many were done in .22 short.
I would not want it at any price.
What would it do for you?
