Need some help in regard to a Timney trigger problem. Or maybe it isn't.

I purchased a Savage 110 in 223 that someone had shortened the barrel on to 16 1/2 inches. It was advertised on Gunsamerica as having a "trigger job". When I received the gun, I noticed right away that the safety was not properly working.
Also, the trigger pull had to be 10 pounds or better so I thought I would just go to a Timney trigger and solve all problems.

Installed the timney and found that when I finally get the trigger set correctly the safety doesn't work, regardless of where I move the safety screw. Anyone ever had the same problem with the Savage 110 and a Timney? I am not much of a gunsmith admittedly (an attorney actually.....but please don't hold it against me) but I have had the trigger apart several times and can't figure this one out. I feel like I am overlooking something obvious. :banghead: Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I could be wrong but for some reason, some Timney triggers do not have the safety option. If you look them up on Brownells, they specifically state "No Safety" on some of their stock numbers. Maybe someone else can clarify this???

Your correct. The timney has no seperate safety. The original safety that came with the gun has to be used

I would contact Timney and ask their advice or for the instructions for the trigger. It sounds as though it was not installed properly.
