I have a Cx4 in .40 S&W and I absolutely love it. So far, it's functioned perfectly. However, I noticed soon after I got it that there was something loose clinking around inside the stock. I figured it was a loose piece of polymer, and sure enough, when I finally figured out how to get in there, there were several small shavings of plastic floating around. When I put it back together, I noticed another sound, but this time it's in the trigger housing. I field stripped the gun and looked, and just below the firing pin catch lever (44 on attached image) there is what looks to be a ball bearing that's freely moving back and forth within part of the trigger housing.

So my question is, what the heck does the bb do, and does it need to be moving around like that, and can I do something about it?

Thanks!
Noah

This is a good place to ask, but if I were you I'd give Beretta a call; they should be able to give you reliable information as good or better than anyone here.
