I just bought a 625-10 which is a 2" .45 ACP snubby. My normal play load for my 4" 625 is a West Coast 200gr plated RN over 3.8 grs. of Clays.
Out of the 2" barrel, this looked like the 4th of July again with sparks from some of the powder burning outside of the barrel.

I want to use the same bullets. Can you suggest a different target load that might be better suited to this short barrel.

Thanks!

While I personally have not used the bullet weight that you refer to.
The Lyman cast bullet load book, copyright 1980 list a start of 4 gr red dot w/ a 200 SWC, out of a 1911 (5") and 2 revolvers (4" and 6")...starting velocity is 695, up to 835 FPS w/ 5.3 grs.
the reason I mention red dot is that I have a few 45 ACP handguns, and they range in barrel length of 2 to 4 inches, and this load doesn't bother me any.
There are a # of other loads/ powders listed. if you want info, send me a IM or ask here.

In this one, I use:

4.5 grains Bullseye
200 grain SWC plated Rainier
Federal 150
Star-Line Brass

Works great, little flash, quite accurate, and recoil is moderate.
