I have been thinking lately about adding a shoulder strap to my Savage 24. This gun must have had a shoulder strap previously. Do new shoulder straps already come with their own studs such that I must change my existing studs, or can I use the ones I have? I have never owned any guns with straps. It is a new endeavor for me to install one on this gun. I see some out there that are leather and some that a more synthetic woven material that looks very durable. I am thinking about a black strap looking nice. Any constructive advice is appreciated. The entire gun can be seen using the link.

You usually have the option of with or without swivels when you buy the sling. You've already got the studs so you don't have to worry about it, just buy a sling with the quick detach swivels and you'll be all set.

I would go to the store and take a look if I were you, they ussually have plenty to choose from. Ask for help if you need it, thats what the counter guys are there for.

You need a set of quick detaching sling swivels. Your local gun shop will have 'em for not a lot of money(around $10). Literally push button installation on the existing sling studs.
Uncle Mike's make good, inexpensive, ballistic nylon slings. No maintenance. They come with installation instructions too, as I recall. Also your local gun shop. Around $20.

As stated "Uncle Mikes" quick detach swivels will work fine, As for the type of sling. Nylon, though almost indestructable, tends to be slick on the shoulder. Leather or neoprene "grip" better. :)
