Ok, so the Winchester's have their following and the Marlin's have their following. What's the word on the Henry 30-30. I like the look of it but not so crazy about the tube magazine on a centerfire levergun. What do y'all think? Ps, I love my Henry frontier .22.

Winchesters and Marlins have a tube magazine!!!!! It is loaded thru a gate in the side of the receiver. I like the Henry design, I have several 22 rifles that load the same way, it will be easier than pushing rounds against the gate 'AND' the magazine spring.
I don't need another 30-30, but I'm going to look!!!!!!!

I haven't seen one. I've seen the weight spec. and the price. That was enough to keep me from looking further.

8.3 lbs. and a street price of $575 for the blue model. More if you want it all shiny. 8.3 lbs. is RIDICULOUS for a straight grip .30-30 carbine under 40" long, with a simple round barrel. I'm not sure how they managed to make it so heavy.

Check out the Mossberg 464, 6.7 lbs. and $375 instead. It's a deliberate attempt to replicate Winchester 94 looks and handling, with Marlin-like internals. Walnut model with a 336-like curved lever and pistol grip is supposedly coming soon.

The old Winchesters 94s come in just at a bit 7 lbs. and feel perfect.

That said, I'd get a Marlin. Marlin has proven themselves to me with 3 great lever guns so far.:) They are a tad heftier than the 94 was, but at 7 lbs., I like them, too. And they're also available for $375 in plain wood, $430 in walnut, and about $530 in stainless.

I'm sure not getting what Henry is thinking, bringing out an over-eight-pound lever carbine for a price so much higher than the well-balanced Marlin that's been proving itself worthy since the 1890s.
