The difference is that Nips, although you may not have been using it as one, is a pejorative term. So is Krauts. And you know it.

Back on topic of Marine mission and capability.
The U.S. Marines I had the pleasure of working with (I was Navy) were of the same cloth every Marine is cut from. Go anywhere, take on anybody at any time. The fact that they train for amphibious and littoral warfare more than any other infantry force else doesn't detract from their capability to make war in another fashion.
