I would very much like to have a shotgun from Fabarm's SDASS line... specifically, the Trainer or Composite 20". Anyone have one or know what they wholesale for? Retail looks to be $649 and $569 respectively. Anyone know of an on-line dealer?

Google and Gunbroker have exactly squat as far as I can see.

See page 38 for the SDASS line:

Thanks

Has no one seen the SDASS line?

A few people seem to have the FP6. Is that the last model that made it to the states?

Help me out here. I've got a hankering for a shotgun. :)

I remember a Fabarm that was imported by HK. I think it was a pump...I've never seen anything in that catalog anywhere. Maybe not imported to US?

If you can't even find mention of it on gunbroker or gunsamerica, it probably isn't around.

I've got a SDASS Tactical. Very nice gun, so far.
I live in Moscow, Russia, though.

The local gunshop to me has some FABARMs (imported by HK), one really nice semi-auto with ghost ring fiber optic sights but I tried to find them online for price comparison and it was no good. Used for ~$850 if I remember correctly. I think SIG was going import them after HK but right now I think it's supposed to be TRISTAR http://www.tristarsportingarms.com/.

Anyway, that's all the stuff I found (from other forums and what not so not 100% accurate) but I still couldn't find them for sale on-line.

I have looked into buying one of the new Fabarm tacticals. You have to call Tristar, the importer, and ask them about it. They will tell you to have your FFL put in an order and when they (the importer) gets a large enough order, they will send in the order to Fabarm. This is only applies if they don't have the gun already in stock in the US. I can only find Canadian shops carrying new Fabarm tacticals and to import them from a gun shop up north to the states would cost twice as much (filling out customs' paper work, etc.). My local FFL didnt want to deal with Fabarm and didnt want to put in an order for me, due to their past shady warranty work he had dealt with in the past. And he is a dealer of all kind of tactical guns so perhaps that's a tip off. The new guns cost well over a $1000....I ended up figuring it was cheaper to buy a Benelli tactical, there are a few old stock NIB M1 tacticals on the auction sites for under $900.

If you look on gunbroker you see a few of the old FP-6 pump actions for sale and there was a guy selling a HK-Fabarm semi-auto not too long ago. He didnt get his price for it, pulled it, and told me he was looking into the actual price for this gun so he can better price it (but I think he ended up selling it outside of gunbroker).

Fabarm makes quality sporting guns (don't know about the quality of their tactical guns), since they aren't big in the US yet, trying to get warranty work on it or parts will become a real hassle. Some folks that I have come into contact with online who have Fabarms, have to go order parts from Canada. They look real nice and "mean" but when comparing it to a Benelli tactical, I don't see any real advantages Fabarm has over the Benelli, maybe the flip up front sight and standard rails, but price wise they are a little expensive to Benelli. To me, that's not enough to convince me to buy a Fabarm over a Benelli.

let us know what you find out....if you want a different style gun just to try out and play with, I would go ahead and try to order a Fabarm, however if you are looking for a tactical shotgun to do actual "work" with or for competition, I would not consider Fabarm and stick to a brand that is common in the U.S. (for ease of warranty work and parts).

Tristar is the point of contact here in the US. Google Tristar and Fabarm and you will get the info to contact them.

How is Fabarm viewed in Europe? I read about how more often you see their guns being used in Europe, not so much in the US. They seem pretty nice cosmetic wise but I never shot any. Curious to know from your Euro folks.

Thanks for the info all.

This is from Tristar's site FAQ:

Is TriStar importing Fabarm?

Yes, in 2008 TriStar Sporting Arms became the sole U.S. importer of the Italian made shotguns.

I think I'll try to contact them.

Here in Europe the Fabarm pump guns are popular in competition shooting. They are rugged and are very good value for money. For the price you pay here for a stock Remington 870 mariner you have a Fabarm SDASS Pro forces shotgun wich has a stock with pistol grip, Weaver rail, LPA Ghost ring sights and interchangable chokes. You can buy a screw in compensator as an option and you can adjust the lenght of the stock by means of spacers.
As far as semi automatics the Benelli M3 and in last years the M4 are the most popular, they are very reliable witch seems to be a problem with some Fabarm combat semi-auto's.
Fabarm shotguns are in use with the Italian army and were selected over Benelli shotguns but i think this has a lot to do with the price. The Benelli Nova tactical is said to be the best pump shotgun available today according to many European competition shooters.

if anyone gets a Fabarm tactical semi-auto, give us a range report. I'm interested in hearing about this gun. Tristar did have one dealer sample when I inquired about this back in June, a SAT-8 with collaspable stock. My local FFL said he could sell it to me for $910 and and another FFL near me said he could sell it to me for $1000 so I don't know what the actual dealer cost is for this gun but the first FFL that I contacted said he wouldn't do a mark-up on the gun so I assume $910 or so is the dealer cost. Add another couple hundred and you have a rough retail price.

I ended up backing out of the deal because, quite frankly, I have seen a few Benelli M1 tacticals, new in box, sell for just under $900, on the auction sites, and Benelli is a proven name with a good source of after market parts and warranty work. I also wasn't crazy about the collaspable stock either, more money would had to be spent to get a regular stock fitted.
