Anyone ever tried one of these NAA muzzleloading .22's? Anything I should know before I start?

This is the .22 Mag model. It takes 4 grains of fffg black powder behind a 40gr. lead bullet. I think a #11 percussion cap and a .22 pellet should be about right to start with.

Anyone ever tried one of these NAA muzzleloading .22's?

Just to be picky, they aren't muzzleloaders (as they don't load at the muzzle), but are cap & ball revolvers. I used to have one of the early Freedom Arms C&B mini revolvers, very similar to the NAA, lot of fun but can be a challenge to shoot with any degree of accuracy.

I also have one and they don't have much penetration with 4f black, but are pretty good with the 3f tripple 7. Use a large target at close range, I shoot it at 6' and get about a group of 6" usually.

You guys might think these are little popguns (and they are at ranges of over 6 inches) but if you really want to see what kind of damage they can do, put the muzzle right up against a piece of cardboard and see what happens!

Just a thought, but since the Mini's were designed to fire standard .22 WMR to begin with, couldn't one simply load these with smokelss if the BP velocities were less than desireable? Worst I would think could happen is caps blown to bits.

I've read on several forums where folks have done exactly that with decent results.

I shot it yesterday with .22 caliber pellets and #10 Rem percussion caps. Good little pop in the garage. I was shooting into a layered foam archery target. The pellets would not pentrate the target but fell to the garage floor. It was fun, it would probably be decent for vermine if you could hit with it. I haven't yet tried to shoot for accuracy.
