I've been testing my second home made air rifle today - I really built this to be adjustable as possible so I could try out various ideas with accuracy being the main aim, and to see if I could make a competitive air rifle to compete in the 25yd air benchrest competitions without spending $3-4,000 on new Anschutz, Walther, Steyr or other exotic machine.

I've just started the slow process of trying different pellets at different power settings but not too disappointed with the results so far.

I know it's not pretty but it's beginning to shoot fairly well. These a consecutive 5 shot groups at 25 yards from the bench outside in fairly average conditions. Pellets were H&N Barracuda FT's

That’s pretty slick. I would love to see some details of how you built it and how it works. Can’t argue with results, and your results seem pretty impressive.

Not bad at all. Have you tried some match pellets?

I can't remember, are you making your own barrels? That's a big variable--the other one, I would think, is the valve consistency.

Try some H&N Finale Match Heavy. My FWB 300S will shoot through the same hole time after time with them at 15 yards. Off the bags of course!😁 they were around 13 bucks a tin of 500 last time I bought them so not too bad

I bought the barrel as a cheap blank, also bought the air bottle and regulator body direct from China. The rest was made in my home shop with a small lathe and Chinese mill.

The way it's designed I can easily change the regulator pressure, the weight and throw of the hammer and the strength of the hammer spring.

Not pretty?
Looks great to me, and what does pretty have to do with anything anyway.
