Just found out about this Friday night. Indiana has a new youth Deer Deer Hunting Season for 2006. Any youth age 15 or younger on the date of the hunt and is accompanied by an adult of at least 18 years of age, can take an anterless deer during this special youth deer season, Sept 23-24th.
Don't belive me, get a 2006-07 Indiana Hunting and Trapping Guide.
Youth needs valid hunting license, meaning they need to have completed Hunter Ed class. Youth must comply with all regulations including wearing hunter orange, tagging, checking the deer with in 48 hours after harvest. Youth may use legal shotgun, muzzleloader, Bow and arrow, or crossbow, but may posses only one type of equipment a field.
Adult needs no license, but cannot posses a firearm muzzleloader, bow or crossbow while with the youth hunter.
Know a young kid wanting to hunt, this is a great chance. This with a $7 youth hunting license could make a great weekend.
