I need help putting together a old revolver for a friend. It is a Hopkins & Allen 32 revolver with Forehand 1901 on the barrel .Hinged frame .all together now but something is missing that holds the cylinder in.there is a small slot below barrel on left side infront of cylinder Can some one show me a picture what goes in this spot ?

No picture, but it is a piece the size of the hole, with a hook on the back end that engages the groove on the front center part of the cylinder. It has a small coil spring to hold it engaged. To remove the cylinder, the front of that piece is pushed in; it pivots on its pin and the rear end comes out, freeing the cylinder. Knowing how it works, one should be fairly easy to make.

picture of what needed

The small part in front of cylinder hooks onto inside of cylinder but cant figure out what it looks like or how long it goes or hooks under barrel in slot???
